Hi guys, its been a while since the blog was updated, its really been a while, the whole reason, I think i lost the guts to handle PCP or aka Putrajaya Challenge Park @ dengkil. I cant jump anymore, i cant ride uphill, did not enjoy the ride, every slop was a stress, and push my way down the slope. After the ride, felt so tiring, and exhausted.

If you guys are having this kinda feel..dun worry.

The good news is, I got over it.

The last trip to PCP was 3 weeks ago, didnt really enjoy it, very scary....at the end of the ride, I was thinking, maybe its time to stop, I lost the knowledge to enjoy..I took it too seriously...maybe.

Today, I had another trial, very nice, manage to get throught he slopes, uphill (eventhough a bit tired) and downhill, kacang..

The remedy?

You got to ride with a free soul, clear your mind, dun think about work or study, just relax...and slowly adapt to it. DO NOT RIDE WITH A SERIOUS MIND SET.

You gonna do it, trust me.

A good ride always end with a satisfactory mind and soul.

Not a tired and exhausted body...

Now, go back and ride on!

FRIM again sept 2011

Dah la, its been some 4 months since my last ride to pcp, that is like i stopped for like 6 months, and then my good neighbor called and, i say yes, to FRIM we go. Set up the bike at 8am, we are riding with 3 younger geng, now i realised that i am a senior, i started here back then 4-5 years ago, at FRIM.

Well, wasnt very impress on FRIM, as i had ride many time here, i think i know all the lubang and jalan in FRIM, as we ascent, the story is very different, i can feel the kick is different, i had a very different feel on FRIM. It has a nice good and fresh breeze in the morning, that is why you will see many come here for a walk/jog. We opt to ride up the hill, now these tracks come with names, those days, we just ride, and it has no names...hehe.. the younger geng, says Dream Trail...and we start our ride!

up one hill then another then down hill. Not an easy trail, a lot of roots and slippery due to the rain yesterday.

This trail need a lot of brake work and handling work, u might slip to the slopes if not careful.

very nice up hill and very nice downhill with little technical trail.

a good trail for beginner, remember that i started it here, means that, it give me the thrill to carry on till now..bravo FRIM!

KOTA DAMANSARA - SG.BULOH - RRI TRAIL

HI guys,

How are you guys doing, its been some time off the scene.

Feels like a long time out of riding mood, suddenly, my neighbor call for a ride on a sunday morning, with no direction or idea to ride! While in the toilet at 7 am on a sunday morning, all geared up for an off road ride, but have no bloody idea of whereabout. This is due to our normal route had been leveled by some development in saujana putra. We have our riding place! Then, i sent a sms to our buddy, KIT!

And off we are on our way to kota damansara, we have problem fixing the bike into the rack, we will skip that here, i would like to discuss more on the track/trail. We arrived at the meeting point, segi college, kota damansara, turn in from the petronas, next to segi and you will see a cova square and you park you vehicle there.

we enlight the bike from our car, and start riding, very excited as the trail is new to me and my friends, stress cause we are 30 minutes late, and still we need to have a power stick before the ride..

once we enter the trail, there are 3 of our members waiting and welcoming us, with a smiling face even though we are damn late. and they only says that we need to catch up a bit, as the team is at the first rest spot.

I heard so much about this trail and they says its dangerous and slippery with all the roots, well, i find it easy to ride a little of these and that. the root is not a big problem to ride, unless u speed like on the highway la bro.

The tour leader says that, this trail consist of some xc, some uphill, some down hill and some technical.

I found it to be very true, the xc is perfect for my tbolt, the uphill is nice, long and not too steep, the downhill too, nice, the best is the technical jump, attainable by me, i think you all can do it.

taking a rest after 3rd stop.power stick time, and let me warn you here, there are a lots of mosquitoes!! a lot of them, damn lot!! and those are aedes! no joke, they attack you by the hundreds and you can see their stripes. The bite you thru the shirt and i was on mosquitoes repellent before the ride, i know there is a lot of mosquitoes at a rubber plantation, but this is hell! they still attack me on the repellent hand. No use! bring the whole bottle. but the worst bit area is my back...next to my camelbag. I kena teruk bro! more than 50 bites. i thnk if i gonna go into fever in this 2 days, i will be admitted. i am gonna be kena dengue.

Nice downhill here, very nicely attainable, kacang for some of you, but for amateur, you will like it, it really pump up the adrenaline.

a nice ride, finish with a straight ride home..

very nice for all level. if you get used to the trail, you can do a double round, you will never get bored.

The mosquitoes!

No joke, its like being attacked by bees.

If you have seen tv on anti dengue drive, please ask them not to waste time clearing the longkang! or used tyres. Its here that breed all the dengue, and the government is not doing anything. Cmon, rubber estate, is the best ground for aedes breeding. You are asking for suicide, if not protected with repellent. Too bad, people are paying hundreds of thousand to buy a new house next to RRI at kota damansara!! haha, i think it will be ham kah dengue !!

Mountain Bike Training Myths

Mountain bike training has a lot of "trail myths" surrounding it. When someone decides that they want to get better on the trail they are usually told things like "work on your cardio", "ride your bike more" and "get a bike fit"...but there is more to each of those pieces of advice.

- "Work on your cardio": While cardio is important, the real key to riding faster and longer is to achieve better efficiency on the trail. Cardio is like the size of your gas tank and your efficiency is like the mile-per-gallon. You can get more by working on both than simply shoving a bigger gas tank in.

Efficiency comes from working on mobility and strength in the gym and on your skills off the trail. Increased mobility and strength will result in less wasted energy on the bike as your body is better able to achieve and maintain optimal alignment and movement. Increased technical skills will result in less wasted speed and momentum on the trail which means less overall "effort" to achieve the same speed.

Add it all up and you are able to go faster while pedaling less, which means better use of the cardio capacity you already have. For most riders starting out with a mountain bike training program, this is the first place to start. Increased "cardio" is nice but if you're wasting a ton of energy on the trail it is like pouring water into a bucket with a hole in it- it will never get full until you plug the leak!

- "Ride you bike more": When new riders first start every time they go out for a ride they feel like they are improving. However, this honeymoon period soon ends and riders are left trying to figure out how to continue improving. The advice from most veteran riders is that since riding helped in the beginning, then riding more must be the answer, right?

Not so fast, my friend. Riding your bike is the best way to learn how to apply your current fitness and skill levels to the trail. After a year or so of riding most people have maxed out their current fitness and skill levels, which is why they stop improving. While riding more can improve those things, you eventually run into the ugly truth - you hit the point of diminishing returns and an extra couple hours of riding each week doesn't really improve your overall performance.

Strength and conditioning is one of the most efficient uses of your mountain bike training time and can dramatically raise your performance potential. When done right, it can improve fitness and skill levels as you develop better body awareness, strength, power and mobility. That way, when you hit the trail you are learning to apply those new levels, resulting in an increase in performance without a large increase in riding time.

- "Get a bike fit": Bike fits are great - if you're a roadie. On the trail they are very limited when the perfect world of the roadie meets the chaos of the trail. Mountain biking carries a very high technical skill element and you want your bike set up to best fit this need, not to work around your mobility and movement deficits.

Most bike fits looks to change how the bike is set up around you regardless of how those changes affect the balance and handling on the trail. Some of the most common bike fit "fixes", such as changing stem length, will negatively affect your ability to corner and handle your bike. Mountain bikers need to pick the weapon that will give them the best balance and position and then work on fitting their body into that set up. It is rarely the fit that is holding a rider back; it is more often the tight and weak rider that is holding the bike back.

While working on your cardio, riding more and getting a bike fit can be helpful and result in some progress, they are not the most efficient and effective ways to transform your trail riding. The foundational movement and strength levels of the rider determine their true potential and by working on these things you can ride faster, longer and with more confidence no matter what bike you're riding or trail you're on. Strength and mobility training deserves an important spot in your mountain bike training program if you really want to stop riding at the same level year after year.

MTB trail at saujana putra, jalan lombong somewhere la

this is my best site, i love it there, as this site was founded by a group, i named them puchong underground, then, they changed their name to puchong hash..now, you should have know them by this name, puchong hash.

the site was so popular at one time, and it makes this blog so popular. This trail is so nice because of its nice xc trail, sand, road and greenery scene. very relaxing, very fresh air, and easy ride for beginner and suitable for season riders too.

I like the trail, as it is near my home, wake up, change ..ride, and today we decide to go again, with my neighbor, test out the tbolt terra shark conversion unit. we started at 730, late, as we spend the nite installing the terrashark. by 810am, we arrived, at the trail. bit worry, as last nite, puchong rained, but once we are there, the trail looks dry and nice.

Unfortunately, during our last ride, there was some marking done, and this time, the trees was cut ...it is BOTAK!!!

the trail now is like a open lady, naked, exposed to the sun, and you see a different view after all. you cant feel the fresh breath, no more eye soothing ride, shinny and sunny..

what you can smell are ..burned palm trees, and naked hills.

well, the ride is thrilling as normal, just that you have a different feeling all together, you have a diff feel on the same like before. same trail but diff feel, not nice, but diff feel.

T-bolt to Terra shark, convertion

Hi guys, long time no mud.

this is the tagline that i think all mtbers should be saying rather than long time no see.

If you are not riding, then there will be no mud on your MTB tyre.

This round, a change and upgrade from tbolt to terra shark frame, the difference? terra shark has a full body carbon frame, full frame..babe..carbon.

the process, is quite hectic though, as it is full carbon body, the tough part is installing and dismantling the bearing at the front fork and handle. too hard, afraid of damaging the frame, carbon frame will break apart is it is cracked.

installing the bearing to the body, take extreme measure as well, knocking is kept to the minimum, and we use rubber tools to knock it in.

The next tough part is the rear shock installation, as the frame is somewhat diff from the tbolt, it leave a very tight room for us to slot in the rear shock, but later, we found that the is an easy way to install it, so kacang.

The bike siap in 2 hours, getting ready for a ride in the morning to saujana putra palm estate... the trail that i like so much as it is near my house, and easy to ride over, no need to carry on vehicle..just wake up, change, and ride.

MTB-bandar puteri puchong nite ride

Ok, this is what i do on days when there was no arrangement done by the chief, david. we took a short ride around bandar puteri, from meranti jaya, just to challenge the hill slope of purteri 11. We had done it many times, but this is the only time, i am putting it on the blog, reason, i need to catch up on the blog and get more riding.

BP11, is well known for its nice scenary, and there are many couple that come here to chat and romance, hehe, and they bring their drinks too, nice place to catch your gals heart too. but as for us, we enjoy the long uphill trail, on road of course. bp11 is the alternative for cheras small genting, but this is more cleaner and looks better, and less commercialised, so, its best for a ride.

all the way up hill and down hill, is just to train and warm up for the real challenge.

KOTA WARISAN 21 AUG 2010 - NITE RIDE

we started at kota warisan mamak, forgot the name but once you arrive there, you shall see the first mamak and that is where we grouped. It was a week into bulanramadhan, but the spirit in riding is shown in all the muslim friend, they are not affected by the fasting month, bravo.

As usual, there was a head count, 24 of us, one female, and follows with a safety prayer by our muslim friend. The ride took off by 1115pm, and we move ourselve into the palm estate, leading the pack is my friend, david. He ride fast and I was following behind, third to be exact, the nightmare from my pass cramp still shadow me, and I kept it slow and steady at light gear just to warm up a little. Still recall that i did not manage to finish this course before, and it was day time, so am expecting some roughness, better stay sharp and fresh.

Once into the estate, it was quite an easy ride, but it was nice and exciting, the lights that i bought from singapore works fine in the dark, magic808, i think its call. Well, i went there with my neighbour, kenny, and he has one piece on this magic light too, very bright and sharp, perfect for riding in the dark.

the action starts to get into heat, when we climb hills and long dh. it was so dark, when you look to yur left and right, the only thing you can see is BLACK. nothing. what i can see is the butt in front of me, belongs to another rider. as we go up the hill, i can hear 'rider, rider' that is when you slowed down and everyone is taking over u..haha.
when you go downhill, no one call rider, except if you stopped completely.
along the ride, you will hear, lubang di kanan, lubang di kiri..haha, or pokok or longkang.

there was a few unfortunate incident..
first, the female hit into a ravine and fly off her bike, due to too fast on dh and lack of visibility, light is very important huh.
then, there was this rider that fails to take off his clip shoe, and fell into a palm tree ravine, he is fine, but we all have a good laugh
then, one of us fell into a mud hole, really chocolated him, due to poor vision too
and lastly, the one that i saw, is the chain broke , and luckily our fren kenny had the tools to fix it for him.

overall, very nice and exciting ride, we end somewhere in 2am, ohh, btw, we hit an ular sawah too, only the fornt four pack hit it, sorry huh, datuk ular. it nice, but you gotto stay in the pack, i was once following a rider that was so slow on dh, and we missed the turning. once you missed one, you dun want that to happen, trust me, its not fun, you are lost!! that is scary.

Very nice ride, very worth it, priceless, and better than night dive (if you are a scuba diver) this is so darn nice. and burned out all your calories, trust me, i can still feel it now, it leave a remarkable feel inside you.

Ohh, before i forget, our last point is at the tip of kota warisan hill that you can overlook the klia train station, nice..nice, must go.

after cycling a few tracks, we found a nice spot to test the kona magic link, and kenny did his stunt..for the sake of the meranti jaya audience....here it is...

The journey starts from meranti jaya thru saujana putra thru the lane next to elite highway towards cyberjaya, then carry bike up to the highway, using the cyberjaya flyover to reach qcell and go straight into the palm estate thru 2-3 orang asli settlement, up and down hill, with many dogs chasing and down and up and out towards qcell again, when you see qcel, its like seeing land after a long time in the sea. from qcell, using the cyberjaya flyover towards the semi finish link to putra perdana, come out from aman putra and thru putra perdana towards meranti jaya.

i got a cramp at the exit of putra jaya, 3 hours plus ride, 37 km, very dark, no street light, muddy and full drag road, very challenging. this is what i call nite ride ...love it.

the best thing of the ride is, your vision is only your torch light, while going thru a mud water, a frog jumped in front of me, i thot it was a snake, it scared the hell out of me.

At one point, i need to lead, cause david need to cover the back, cause dogs only chased after the last rider, it was so damn scary to lead...you see nothing, but your torch light..but thanks to mj808, i had a very nice night vision.

kota warisan, dengkil, warned by david, that its a tough ride, invited my neighbour, a very new rider to mtb, told him bout the ride, he say yes and wanna to challenge himself. (leong is his name)

we arrived at mamak at kota warisan by 8am, the day is bright and nice, leong had a nasi lemak..omg, i had a break in the toilet...omg too, dirty.

ride started, i am so please with the palm estate, a very wide off road, then suddenly there was a uphill climb, then another , another and a steep downhill, challenging, i fell into the water runway, take a row on the ground and landed on my savior camelbak...thank you so much, again it save my back bone. bit painful, but david and shairur already in front, my fren, leong hasnot arrived. tried to stand up, felt the pain, then leong arrived. by this time we had climbed endless hill and go down endless slope..it was damn fun...

leong start to complain the nasi lemak in his tummy is coming alive..haha, he says his hue control / contrast control had hair wired, he sees everything so bright, brightness control rosak too..i told him that air is not going to the brain, he needs to rest, if not we will have trouble carrying him.

david and shairur proceed to climb more hill, leong and i find our way out..not easy.

this is a very good trail, must come back, i like it so much, better than saujana putra, frim all add together...

PUTRAJAYA NITE RIDE

opps, the first photo was intend to be there, free advertisement ma...give chance la haha

the nite ride a putrajaya, almost every tuesday nite, start at 9pm. gather around the mosque behind the prime minister office, there is a big roundabout.

by the time i arrived at 845 pm, the car was full, all parked at the roundabout and there was like 30 cars..wow, to my amazement, this ride is popular, tis is the first time, after many years wanted to ride in the dark, or night.

got my new light, magic shine mj808, very bright, 900 lumens, influenced by my dearest buddies neighbor, but no regret, its bright, you shall enjoy the ride with this light, trust me, i used to have a 5 led cateye, to compare, the cateye was just a small pea (kacang).

the ride started to go at around 930, it was a nice scenary around putrajaya, really nice and proud of it, as a malaysian first, chinese second (hehe). the buildings was lighted up real nice, we went throught the offices and reach for the highway, long strecth of up hill and some down hill and we made a turn back to putrajaya. the ride is about 35km. we made it up to the wisma putra, up the hill, real challenging, but you gotta ride as fast as you can, if not, its just another kacang uphill.

going back to the nite ride again? putrajaya? hmm, maybe 3 months once, will provide some thrill.

changed my tyre of one of my basic solaris lerun bike to sleek tyre, the ride is more fun on the road, less drag and roll faster. Had a joy ride around puchong, towards puteri, wawasan and puchong jaya..you will never imagine howmany hills that they have there, but its all tarmac, and built with bungalows and semiD, well, puchong is a nice place to live in.

Unfortunately, my bike which had suffered my abuse for 2 years gave up on its rear bearing, and i am looking for a hub replacement..still waiting for david to send his to me..hehe

david is called upon for the ride, he has been in rest for the past 3 weeks, according to him, injured due to too tired after the jamboree.

We got to poisoned a new member to join too, eric..hehe, my neighbor.

Today coverage should not be less than 40 km, cause after the ride, i was shut off, so tired, so heaty and really flat..

the joourney started at 730, tmn meranti jaya guard doesnt allow our fren david to come in without leaving his license, haha, good job guard, but sorry bro..they are just doing their job.

we shoot all the way to saujana putra, at an average speed of 20...david was complaining that this is a relaxing ride. all the way cut through the contruction site and reach kebun teh, very nice place, i think this is ulu langat district. climbed to the highest point of kebun teh..very nice breeze.

along the way, we had some mud pit, nice trail for our bike, but too bad, lim fall into one of it, luckily, my cam was ready and took the shot!! wow, lucky us to see him in action ..hahah

we shall not laugh at others unfortunate..hahah, lim dont be angry ok..its funny for the blog

all the same on the way back, nothing special except for the sun, very striking, and got some tan along the way, and its 930 am..wow, the weather is changing..

PCP 13 march 2010

the intention of today ride was to be at around the housing area. i thought it would be nice to show thema round the pcp and what its all about on mountain biking, and tracks.. we load the truck, kenny's truck and he pay for the toll too.

before the ride our fren kenny, had a cigi..i was amazed, this is not gonna be a xc..lots of up and downhill, very alert and need to focus on every corner.

start riding at 610pm, the day was nice, seems like gonna rain in a while.

we took the first track, very sharp dhill, scared the crab out of lim, cause he is having a sleek tyre.

then the turning was so fun for lim, he was drifting all the way with his tyre. kenny saw him almost hitting a tree, i missed it, i was leading

overall, nice facilities, washing area prepared for us to wash before you go.

took 20 mins to cover 3 tracks, i heard there are 11..so guys, i be back again.

p/s now, the labelled it, so you wont get lost in the park...damn, they really are doing well here..bravo

We started the journey in the morning without our chief David, i have no idea how the route was, and only had some slight memory of the trail, but anyhow, wanted to show my neighbours that riding off road had better breeze and safer, less dust and less stress, more enjoying, esp on the downhill and nice view too.
All the way into saujana putra and to our destination the palm oil estate, very nice day, weather was just nice, we started at 625 am, altogether, we mark 28km to and fro, from meranti jaya till the first settlement of kampung orang asli (p/s, i forgot the rest of the trail). But anyhow, lim, need to go to reach home before 10am.
We shud try this trail again next round, as we had our magicshine mj808, it shud shine in the dark with 800 lumen, must get somebody to arrange a night ride here, must be damn exciting.
overall, nothing much to complain, but it was a nice start since i had stopped for 6 months.
On my way back, met cyril and his geng, and met a few cars with their bikes on, maybe 10 of them, so, i guess the site had been very popular lately after we set trail for pcc geng huh.

i am looking forward to pcp with david and the night ride, with my new lights on..hehe. till then, happy riding bros and siss

Dear All,

Its been a really long time since theblog is active...Again.
This time its gonna be better, as the author, that is me, had done my MBA, and passes with flying colors. Now I can get back to concentrate on MTB..again.

To start the journey, after a long break and restart and break, I had chosen to warm up my skills, and stamina before any new stunts being applied.

I am so Lucky, that by the time i finished my studies, both my neighbors had picked up the sport, MTB, i had no idea whether i had a direct influence on them, but they are really serious on it, so for sure, this sports really bring good health and great experience. The best thing about the sport is the fresh air we breath in the track, clean and fresh air in the city that is full with polluted gas from vehicles.

Wow, I started my journey with these guys, Lim ( the white hair) and Kenny ( the no hair) and me ( the buncit red) riding from meranti jaya to uniten thru ldp and returning thru the new skve reaching putra perdana.

Nice ride, nice weather on the 27 feb 2010, nice sun rise, nice air on the skve and best of all not many cars around.

We started in the morning 630am, to test on lim's new light, the magic shine 800, damn bright light, its like a motorcycle light, which cost us less than 400 to have, and his new rear light..for 75. very nice and bright, but the cons is, it come with a batt pack that istoo huge to hang around, wait till he figure out how to solve this problem, i be getting mine from sg.

wow, wow, its such a nice place that the government had designed for us. Its raining today, and i just missed my camera in the car, afraid of flooding it.

The call came last night at 12 am, when i chat withdavid of puchong, he invites me to go for a look out at putrajaya, to my amaze, i never knew that there is such a nice place to ride, not too technical, but maybe to first timer and long timer, like me, i am a long timer, long time no ride, a bit 'kecut' to go down on some slopes.

Overall, very nice, nice view, better than FRIM and Mont Kiara, less root on the ground, and not many people, facilities is good, nice and clean, and most of all its a new trail. so nice..must go back there to take some pics.

Well, we had so many of us today, on rough estimation, about 20 of us, one lady, i remember her, because she was riding a loose tyre, had a puncture, and having a heavy bike, but bravo, she made it, respect her strength.

The rest are made up of some seasoned rider, very friendly and much a maze, can really jump...hahah, bravo guys, btw, they are from puncak jalil puchong club.

I need to train more, lost the skill and the guts..hehe, but will want to join them for the night ride on every tuesday..putrajaya, on road...cool bro.

David, you had changed so much, i still remembered that you do not want to go off-road, mountain, wen i first met you..now, you can fly..haha, good for you bro, keep it up.

NIGHT RIDE AT TAMAN MERANTI JAYA

After so many months of drought, planning and wishing upon the star, i just cant get hold to join any night ride programs that were organised either by puching harsh or david. Finally, my own taman meranti jaya folks, made up of my neighbors...are having a night ride.

Location...from taman meranti jaya 1 to taman meranti jaya phase 2...hahaha. the route is short, making a u-turn every 500m, but we manage to cover 11km...no helmet, no need for full gear, only lights. They are a group of neighbors that ride for fun and health, exercise and better sleep. I was invited today, after i borrow a rear shock pump from one of my neighbor, lim.

Eventhough it was not a real adventure night ride, the feeling is great, cool air, some lights, flat road, avg speed of 25km/h, cooling. I bet the real one must be great. I was telling them to train up and join the night ride in puchong..

No pic here, just a piece of my mind, nice ride..really enjoyed the cooling and nice air..looking forward for another night ride..yeah

Its always the case to sports man, esp, those that are on the adventure sports, be it scuba diving, mountain biking and many more, they tend to keep upgrading their tools, the problem is, do you really use them. Hehe, yes we do, in time of emergency and needy, we need to use those tools, for scuba divers, the dive comp is an important tools to keep us alive, for a mtbiker, the pump, is vital to keep us moving, without it, we will have to push the bike out from the jungle, so everyone seems tohave a spare tube, a pump and some tools, except me..hehe, that is why i hook up with the gang, they take care of me..

in today case, loong and david is finding it hard to pump loong's tyre...hhaha, funny

Wow, its been months since this blog is active, i had been really lazy this few months, covering my law subjects and strategic paper. So many things happens since the last ride, I was force to quit my job, and now in between job. Last night, before the ride, was invited to a wine n dine, lots of question, but i introduced myself as jobless, i guess many people doesnt dare to say that, but i feel funny to even says it out, and most of the audience found it exciting, or maybe, low standard. What is standard? telling the truth is better than being a hypocrite..i love my new status...JOBLESS...hahaha

The dinner end at 1am. never got enough sleep, cant sleep well, cause was thinking about the ride today...my buddy david arranged the trip to be around puchong, i think it will be easy as Puchong trail are known to be xc...but he called me at 7am, asking me to hurry up, the van is waiting at petronas...i was shocked!! i thought it was a easy ride, for warming up my old muscle..

We drove all the way to saujana putra, he mentioned bout the ladang teh, i remembered that we got lost there once, as we cant find our way out, david is an adventurer. The journey start when we park our van in front of a restaurant, all the way into the construction site..to find a way into the jungle....haha, david is the man!!

Dear guys,

The group that i previously introduced somewhere in march/April 2009 had evolve into puchong bike hash, and they are proud of it, i am proud of them too. On the 5 july 2009, I followed them to kemensah ride..haveno idea where was it till the day of depart.

The first entry was steep...from the information given, this is a xc trail with nice scenery...after riding up, we all started to push the bike...and push and push..it rains in the morning.., it was wet and slippery.

The deeper we go into the trail..the longer we have to push, it was just too steep to ride..wow..along the way, there were this small paper marking of KL hash run, I got an idea that this is a hash trail, and its a jungle tracking trail. OMG...

Pushed most of the time to reach a rest spot, a look at my meter, its 4 km!!! I WANT TO GO HOME!!!, someone then says, its down hill..yeah...after a 4km push, dh will be great. I put my saddle lower and get ready for a nice ride, after a few corner, i started pushing again, the downhill is too steep..hahahah, many tergolek....hahah, bravo tergolek..

I brand this trail PUPD. (push up push down) ...most of the time i was pushing bikes, i think it will be damn nice to run at this trail. but riding!? we need something which is less rocky and not too steep.

We arrived at the klang gate dam, wow, what a sight, nice. But the nice feeling does not last for a long time, it was all the way dh to the dam, but we need to push all the way back...hahhaha shxxx

after a few more pushing, my meter read 6.9km, the information given is 20km for the whole trail, i started to faint (literally). hunger strikes, image of roti canai banjir with dal and sambal is flyig in my mind...i recall that i have an energy bar...everyone else was hungry...6.9km, felt like 25km, cause most of the time we were on foot..pushing the bike....

scenery was nice, its a nice ride, i overheard someone saying that they will come again, i need more faith. The last round of riding was fun, all the way dh, with rocks and drain line ...once you slip into the drain line, the effect is ..tergolek!!! haha a lot of us tergolek, and the rock gave me a strong sense of not to hit on one, too dangerous and steep. The last of us is LOW, we waited for him for about 15min, once he show up, he annouce that he tergolek, and his bike..fully twisted..OMG..

Overall nice ride...enjoy riding with you guys...looking forward for next week...yeah, please ignor my personal complains...hahhaah

Planning a Comeback

Hello guys, its been a long time since I am write in this blog. I must say that I am so tied down with the assignments and scoring high distinction in my MBA. Luckily, everything gets to balance off and managed to score 2 HD, hope to maintain my GPA 6.5 and above with the coming result. Well I have another 3 more papers to clear, and by this coming CNY2010, I promise you that I will be full active again in MTB.

MJ had passed away, its sad that we had lost a legend, but nevertheless, we are lucky to live in this era together with him before, most of us grow up with his music and dances. He still amazed me with his move on moon walking. I saw his concert on tv the other day, he is so fabulous. We should all learn from his attribute of business acumen in the music industry and putting his creativity into the music arena. Good bye MJ.

Well after 6 months short of MTB, I had been keeping my stamina train near my house stretch of road. On road cycling, just to kill some itch on MTB, ride for 10km. But i know I will be far behind you guys when we are off road, please wait for me..sigh.

My bro in crime, david, had improved so much on MTB, I used to laugh at his small capacity engine, although he has a good bike..heheh...its the person that is important, not the BIKE!!! hahah

This semester break will end by July 25th, hopefully can join a trip or two with the newly launch gang of puchongbikehash group...I used to call them puchong underground....hehe. Congratulation on your new blog, its nice and lovely. You got all the names there as well...good going brother seng...hehe

Oh..lastly, during this time away, I have been keeping in shape, and ensuring age will not catch up so fast on me so that I can still ride fast. For those who is hunger for pictures, I do not have any new pic at the current moment, but I have a pic on the remedy to keep young...till then, LIVE TO RIDE!!!!

My Tank Race Elite was sold to my friend. And I start to source for a hard tail. Why i need another hard tail bike??? Normally, i will use Hard Tail Bike to participate all the Jamboree Ride. It is because Hardtail bike is much more lighter then INTENSE 6.6.

Due to the reason i am still have not decided which hard tail to buy, i had to use my INTENSE to attend Kulim Hi-Tech Jamboree last month. The good news is that i managed to complete all course (total 56km) for this ride.

For timing, i have few option for new Hard Tail...
1) Santa Cruz Chameleon
2) Cannondale F2 (Lefty)

1) Santa Cruz Chameleon

It can't change color, and it's made out of metal, but the name is still appropriate. Both bike does have a very good review, It is very difficult to choose. For Santa Cruz Chameleon is more like all mountain Hard Tail - One bike can do all action & do not worry where i go. On the other hand, Cannondale F2 is pure on Cross Country Bike only. But it does have a very unique fork - Called Lefty (Only one left side fork).

Taman Mas Puchong

guys,

this is to uodate on our recent ride to taman mas puchong. we started late due to one of our member who is not familiar to puchong, from sungai long.
The ride started from taman putra prima at 850 am, 15 of us and lead by Puchong Underground Bike Leader - Tony.
Take a ride to saujana putra and staright into the palm oil estate, and we clocked 48km in total.
very nice scenery,but too many sops due to some of the members that are not fit to ride. This caused some cooling down. i personally had a back pain, riding after the cool down waiting.

It rain the day before, so the trail is a bit wet..but not too bad, just nice. The weather is very comforting and it is not too hot in the estate. Not techinical, no high climb, purely XC, very nice and good for stamina training. Here are some pics of the people in the ride...I will try to remember as much names as possible... here goes.... hey guys,

its been some time that i did not update in this blog. for all of you out there, these are my finding in mtb for the past 2 months. we used to ride in ttdi, very technical and limited scenary, frim, very short course and uphill, the best verdict is PUCHONG.

most of us know puchong from IOI mall, tesco, tractor, Giant, and mayne bandar permaisuri, but in actual fact, puchong has ots of kampung orang asli. it is connected to shah alam kota kemuning, klang river flow next to it, and the forest reserve of UPM laid just next to puchong saujana.

Our ride mostly runs thru puchong mas, putra perdana, cyberjaya and saujana puchong.
recently found that the hill opposite of taman meranti jaya has a trail for downhill mtb, half an hour ride, very interesting, not too technical, and there is a xc trail in puchong mas, thru 2 kampung ornag asli.

We are leaving for the puchong mas trail this coming snday, 11th jan 2009. due to the new gang that i met during my ride last sunday. and for those that doesnt know, there are so many mtb rider, sole rider or they call them lone rider in puchong. they are not online, blog or in a group. but their knowledge of puchong really amazed me.

been to the biggest pond in puchong and there used to have millions of patin fish, now, a sand excavating landmark,maybe the selangor govt should do something to control all these.

lastly, its a nice breeze ride in puchong, with average 30-35km per ride off road, i think it is very calming and safe....I LOVE PUCHONG...

its been a long time since our outing in KL and I thought the flame had died off from the sahara torture. At least our fren lanster has not recover from the burn out of sahara. Lately, attention was bring to the new recruitment of our long awaited guest list into the cycling arena, Ken. The following pic is taken as a result of he getting prepare for a ride at the office vicinity....

Now next is my ride at puchong, back of my home yard, this is something special, i could ride to kota kenmuning within 15 min from my house thru a small road parallel to the klang river, surprisingly. Then the pic will show some sand excavating project that is happening in Puchong Selangor and I think it must be illegal, it is so deep, that i you fall into it, i guarantee of immediate death.

Hi all, another tips to improve the "Gaya" or "Style" when riding (Not riding skill).

I bought this eyewear last week. Initially, i was looking for the extra lens for my Oakley M-Frame for night ride. After i seeing this, i have decided to get another pair of eyewear. It is because this eyewear includes 5 lens which could be use for different ride, including night ride....

The frame gets in your vision when you've got your head down and are looking up the road (always a good idea, looking where you're going). The rubberised section of the nose bridge is too slippery also, and it only gets worse with sweat, leading to the shades creeping down your nose a little when riding (depending upon your nose of course). There's no getting away from it - these are great value, but they're a little too flawed in their design to take a max score from us, despite the five lens deal.

Hi All, i just want to share my Christmas presents for this year. (actually i bought for my self).

1) Adidas Minrett Shoe (08)
The Adidas Minretts feature lightweight mesh sides and a split suede upper, so although they’re padded around the heel and ankle, they’re actually quite quick to dry too.
Cleat depth is also good, as the tread angles away from the cleat at the side, increasing ground clearance.
Although the cut is respectably roomy across the shoe and at the heel, the toe box is a little on the narrow side, which is ﬁne if that suits your foot shape, but, as with any shoes, it’s best to try before you buy.
For good commuting credentials, there’s a small reﬂective tab at the heel for catching car headlights.

2) Shimano Deore XT SPD Pedals(08)
There are cheaper Shimano SPDs than the Deore XT – the budget M520 costs around £20, for example. However, your money gets you uprated bearings and excellent sealing, longer spells between services, a lighter weight and better long-term durability.
Okay, so the main Achilles heel of SPD pedals – they tend to fill with mud – remains. But it doesn't seem to stop them working. We’ve lost count of the times we’ve been astounded when throwing a mud-caked shoe at a lump of crud on the end of a crank arm, only for the pedal to defy all probability and engage with its tell-tale click. Fantastic.

FRIM New trail

Our trip to FRIM took another new turn, we had joined republic of Puchong(ROP) gang for a new ride. We had arrived at 9 am, but they were ready by8 am, so those bros had to wait for an hour before our arrival. They waited for us as I told them that we had a gang of four, they had a turn out of 17 members.
Upon arrival, we called jason and yuki, which saw them chicken out...what a shame. Jason is obviously being chicken out by bukit cermin incident, we saw him vomitted and free falling...haha, hope he will recover fast, if not, I will need jimmy to bring him to install a basket and a baby seat on his tbolt.
We started with the new trail, andmust thanks aznul to wait for us at the entranceof the trail. it was fun, with some techincal dh trail, jungle tracking trail.
Start with a uphill and once reached the peak, it was a steep dh trail, technical...nice piece..must try again. Bay shos his stunt by falling on the first loop, brake too hard on the front...hahahh

The best bike that comes with a stand, the rest of the bikes had to be laid on the floor...it is an envy of others

End of technical trail, you will see people walking up the hill

The bikes need to rest at the drain, where mine come with a stand...hehehe

well there is always a good bike to buy. Lerun solaris , priced at rm500.00, comes with all clipped wheel and seat post, hard tail and 21 speed.

greeting bikers.

we made a daring ride to bukit cermin in puchong / subang at putra height on the 5th 0ct. It was a joint effort with republic of puchong group. You may want to see their blo at republicofpuchong.blogspot.com.

I met them at jomkayuh.com and it became a instant grouping. They had a night ride and they initiated many rides.

One of the rider was hit by heart attack and now he is very healthy, due to riding bikes.

And as a start, we had a new member, jason neoh.. he hit his virgin by vomitting and falling on his first ride. hahhahah. welcome to mountain biking world.
